Overview
The Flare Network employs a mechanism called FAssets to represent assets originating on other blockchains, such as Bitcoin and XRP, as native tokens on Flare. This system facilitates the integration of those external assets into Flare’s smart contract environment for decentralised finance applications, circumventing the need for a conventional trusted custodian. The mechanism functions through over-collateralisation: agents mint F-Assets by locking collateral on Flare.
