Overview
The cross-chain bridge protocol Nomad, which employed an optimistic verification system for asset transfers across blockchains, ceased operations following a significant security breach in August 2022. An exploit targeting a flaw in its smart contract enabled an attacker to withdraw the majority of the protocol's bridged funds. The service was subsequently decommissioned and remains inactive.
