Neutron chain
Overview
The Neutron network functions as a permissionless smart-contract environment within the Cosmos ecosystem, built on the CosmWasm framework. It achieved a milestone as the initial consumer chain to go live using the Cosmos Hub’s Interchain Security mechanism, also known as replicated security; this arrangement allows it to rely on the Hub’s validator set for security instead of establishing its own. The platform incorporates Interchain Queries and Interchain Accounts natively, which enables smart contracts to retrieve data from and initiate transactions on any other Cosmos chain linked via IBC, forming the foundation for cross-chain decentralized finance applications. Developers may deploy contracts in Rust or other languages supported by CosmWasm without needing prior approval from the network’s governance. The chain’s native asset is NTRN.
Within The Counterparty graph, Neutron connects to 2 tracked entities, most strongly to Cosmos SDK, Cosmos Hub.
