Overview
The Terra Classic network, built on the Cosmos SDK and using a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism, was the original Terra blockchain before its de-pegging event in May 2022. It originally supported the algorithmic stablecoin UST (rebranded as USTC) and its native governance token LUNA (now LUNC). Despite the collapse, the chain remains active as a community-governed platform, hosting decentralized applications and subject to ongoing proposals aimed at its recovery.
