Overview

Franklin Templeton launched a digital-asset investment division called Franklin Crypto in April 2026, concurrent with a deal to buy 250 Digital, a liquid-strategies firm that emerged from CoinFund. The new unit, co-led by Christopher Perkins, Seth Ginns and Franklin Templeton's Tony Pecore, aims to broaden the firm's crypto offerings beyond passive products like its spot bitcoin ETF to include actively managed funds, separately managed accounts and tokenized instruments.
