Ribbon Finance rebrands to Aevo event
Overview
The structured-products protocol Ribbon Finance has been absorbed into Aevo, an options and perpetual futures exchange developed by the same team on an Optimism-stack layer-2 rollup. A governance vote among 133 RBN token holders, with near-unanimous approval, ended the RBN token and replaced it with a new AEVO token at a 1:1 ratio. The Ribbon application now operates under the Aevo domain, and Aevo's visual style has been applied to Ribbon's existing vault products. AEVO entered the market in 2024 through Binance Launchpool, with RBN holders able to exchange their tokens for AEVO on a one-to-one basis. The brand consolidation followed difficulties in scaling Ribbon's structured-products business.
