CCTP v2 (Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol) protocol
Overview
Circle has released CCTP v2, an updated iteration of its Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol. The permissionless on-chain tool allows native USDC to be moved between supported blockchains by burning the token on the originating chain and minting it on the target chain. The new version additionally enables the transmission of arbitrary data alongside USDC, which supports more intricate cross-chain operations including swaps and messaging.
