Overview

tBTC is a permissionless bridge mechanism that allows Bitcoin to be moved onto the Ethereum network in the form of an ERC-20 token. Participants send Bitcoin to a multi-signature arrangement and receive a corresponding quantity of tBTC, which can then be employed within Ethereum’s decentralized finance ecosystem. The peg is preserved via a periodically changing set of signers and an over-collateralisation of ETH.
