Ronin chain
Overview
The blockchain network Ronin, originally created by Sky Mavis as an Ethereum sidechain for its game Axie Infinity, has transitioned to an Ethereum layer-2 on 12 May 2025 after four years as an independent chain. The network, which later expanded into a general Web3 gaming platform hosting titles like Pixels, prioritises rapid transaction speeds and minimal fees for in-game economies. The migration is expected to significantly reduce inflation of its native RON token. Ronin remains notable for the 2022 exploit of its bridge, one of the largest hacks in crypto history.
Within The Counterparty graph, Ronin connects to 21 tracked entities, most strongly to USD Coin, Compound V3, Sky Mavis.
