Also known as: UniswapX Protocol

Overview

Uniswap Labs launched UniswapX in July 2023 as an opt-in beta protocol that uses an auction-based, intent-centric model. Instead of routing swaps directly through liquidity pools, users sign orders specifying their desired trade. Competing fillers—including market makers, arbitrageurs and other traders—execute these orders via a Dutch auction, where the price decays until a filler accepts, sourcing liquidity from both on-chain and off-chain venues. The protocol is designed to enhance execution prices and limit swappers' exposure to MEV.
